Our Water
The founders of Quintesse want you to have the most complete knowledge and understanding of our water possible. The detailed and extensive information on this website is presented for the sole purpose of informing our customers. Our commitment to you is to inform you so that you have the knowledge and therefore the “power” to make the right decision, the ‘ideal’ decision.
On the Quintesse bottle you will see the word “purified” directly below our logo. What does this mean to you?
Our water receives the highest and most complete level of treatment prior to being bottled.
Many consumers may think that spring water is the purest form— let us “inform” you—check here for more facts on types of US bottled waters and labeling.
Quintesse starts with EPA-certified drinking water and from there our goal is simple:
- Purify and Replenish it to the highest quality--ultra pure, based on proven scientific and engineering processes.
- Provide analytical testing to confirm the quality of the water and allow you to see that information on this website.

On the Quintesse bottle you will see the word “purified”. The Quintesse philosophy is to start with a water that already meets EPA criteria. Based on this we use a high quality municipal source of water and then subject the water to several proven and scientifically based treatment technologies. Through this treatment we remove the non water constituents down to very low levels. In most cases, constituents are removed to below the current limit of detectability of the analysis. The water then meets the definition of ultra pure water. Our carefully treated water is then replenished with calcium, magnesium, and potassium based on the epidemiological research studies that we have reviewed. In replacing these minerals we use sources that are pure enough to be certified for food or pharmaceutical purposes. Our water is disinfected no fewer than 3 times using 2 different processes before it is placed into our unique bottles.
It is required by the FDA that bottled waters sold in the United States be labeled as ‘purified’, ‘artesian’, ‘spring’, mineral’, or ‘sparkling’. Artesian water begins beneath the earth’s surface and is pumped to the surface from a confined aquifer. Spring water is generally taken from an underground formation from which water flows to the surface and may be collected at the spring or through a bore hole. Mineral water originates from an underground water source and is characterized by constant levels of minerals and trace elements at the source. However, purified water receives the highest and most complete level of treatment prior to being bottled. Purified water can come from any source and then receives treatment that changes or reduces the quantity of the constituents of the water so that it will meet the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) water quality criteria. |
