Water Sources and the Quintesse Philosophy
Elemental water, H2O can be found throughout the planet. It can be underground, above ground in rivers, lakes and impoundments, found in ice formations, or in the atmosphere as vapor, but most of it is in the oceans. In each of these sources, it has dissolved material from its surroundings. Wells and springs that are truly protected from pollutants and have ideal geology will have the lowest concentrations of other materials dissolved into the water, while these same sources in non ideal geology will be highly mineralized or even salty. Wells and springs that are not completely isolated from pollution will pick up some less desirable materials. The other sources of water will have influences from the materials through which the water flows, including from plants, animals, and natural or manmade pollutants. All of these sources of water require some form of treatment ranging from disinfection to filtration to dissolved constituent removal.
Each consumer has their preferred source of water based on taste or their perception of quality and safety. Each bottler has their concept of a quality water. At Quintesse, our approach is based on sound science and our goal is simple. We start with a high quality water that already meets EPA criteria and standards as demonstrated by frequent and routine testing. We then subject that water to extensive treatment to remove as many of the non-H2O constituents as possible to the lowest levels possible. We then add back important minerals using highly pure sources. We subject the water to several disinfection steps and, finally, we test every batch so we and you know what is in every bottle.
So you can drink a well water or a spring water and hope for the best, or you can drink a high quality water re-mineralized for the human machine and know what is in your water and why. |
